Commonwealth Bank Outage Disrupts Online Services for Over Two Hours Commonwealth Bank experienced a major outage on Thursday afternoon, affecting online banking services, including its app, payments, and ATMs. Services were unavailable from midday and were restored by 2:30 pm AEST. The outage caused significant disruption, with Downdetector reporting a peak of 7,137 issues shortly after midday, decreasing to 2,790 within 40 minutes. Customers experienced difficulties accessing accounts and making payments, with some reporting discrepancies in joint account balances. The bank has apologized for the inconvenience but did not provide details on the cause of the outage.
