Caisse d’Epargne fined €3.2 million for deceptive practices Caisse d’Épargne Grand Est Europe was accused of engaging in deceptive commercial practices by exceeding the legal caps applicable to intervention fees. Following an investigation by the DGCCRF (French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control), the case was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Strasbourg. The bank agreed to a settlement including a €3.2 million fine, a commitment to cease these practices, reimburse the affected customers, and publish a public statement.
